Charles Richard Haynie, Sr., age 82, of Belton, SC, dedicated husband to Patricia Chambers Haynie, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 18, 1939, in Belton, SC, he was the son of the late Charles Ransom Haynie and Louise Welch Haynie.
Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After earning his Associate degree, Rick worked for Colonial Pipeline where he later retired. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 130 AFM of Belton, SC, and First Baptist Church of Belton and was a volunteer at Belton Interfaith Ministries.
In addition to his loving wife Patricia, he is survived by his children, Sharon Lindley (Larry Foster) of Anderson, SC, Charles Richard Haynie, Jr. of Anderson, SC, and Eric Brian Haynie of Belton, SC; sister, Nancy Haynie-Mooney of Anderson, SC; four grandchildren, Brandon Lindley, Garrett Lindley (Beth), Katelyn Haynie (Kurtis Scott), and Emmalee Haynie; two great-grandchildren, Bram Lindley, and Iris Grace Scott; and many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 15, 2022, at 2:00 pm at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Nick Kirby and Pastor Dale Lynch officiating. The family will greet friends as people are leaving the service.
