Charles Foster Jefferson, age 90, husband of Sara Louise Hardy Jefferson of Anderson, SC passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC on March 8, 1924, Mr. Jefferson was the son of the late John Waymon Jefferson and Ola Mae Gentry Jefferson. He was a United States World War II Air Force Veteran and retired from Arnett Motors, formerly Sullivan Motor Company, as a body shop foreman. Mr. Jefferson was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 60 years, where he had served in many capacities, including Chairman of Deacons. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sara Jefferson; son, Randy Jefferson; daughter, Nancy L. Ledford and her husband Jim, all of Anderson; daughter, Janice Gilreath and her husband, Rod of San Jacinto, CA; brothers Ralph Jefferson and his wife Jeannie, Ray Jefferson and his wife, Delores and Max Jefferson and his wife, Helon; ten grandchildren, Crystal, Mike, Eric, Whitt, Clay, Jason, Kristy, Timothy, Kimberly and David and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Haskell Jefferson and a sister, Helen Jefferson. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday February 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church officiated by the Reverend Curtis Bundy. Mr. Jefferson will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at funeral home on Saturday, February 7, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
