Mr. Charles Burke Jones, Jr., age 83, of Hollywood, SC, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021. Born in Columbia, SC, on December 3, 1937, he was a son of the late C.B. and Edith Nickerson Jones. C.B. moved to Anderson in 1943 and was raised by foster parents, William and Vivian Bewley. He was a 1956 graduate of Carlisle Military School and attended the University of South Carolina. Well-known and respected by contractors and civil engineers throughout the southeast, C.B. spent over thirty years in the highway construction industry. An avid golfer, C.B. actively supported numerous charitable causes, primarily St. Jude Children's Hospital, the Camden Academy Scholarship Fund, the U.S. Humane Society, the John Ancrum Society in Charleston and a number of animal rights groups. Aside from his beloved dog, Betsy, C.B. has no survivors. The funeral service will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Mr. Jones will be interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
