February 24, 1916 - August 24, 2006ANDERSON, SCMr. Charles Edwin Kimsey, Jr., age 90, husband of Inez Gibson Kimsey of 605 Holly Hill Drive, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, August 24, 2006 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on February 24, 1916, Mr. Kimsey was the son of the late Charles E. Kimsey and Ruth Cleveland Pruitt Kimsey. He was a graduate of Anderson College and attended Clemson College. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier after more than 35 years of service. He was a United States Army World War II veteran and a member of North Anderson Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of the home; daughter, Martha Kimsey Bennett and her husband, Stuart of Chesapeake, VA; daughter-in-law, Gloria S. Kimsey of Anderson, SC; step-son, Harold Gibson and his wife, Violet of Walhalla, SC; sister, Jean Kimsey Powell of Anderson, SC; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Koziol Kimsey and a son, Charles E. Kimsey III.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2006 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Bill Rigsby. Interment will follow in Old Silverbrook Cemetery in Anderson. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday, August 25, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
