Charles Levis Macomson, age 86, of Anderson, SC, dedicated husband to the late Carolyn Jo Gilreath Macomson, passed away Friday, October 28, 2022, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born April 15, 1936, in Franklin, GA, he was the son of the late Samuel E. Macomson and Maonie Chastain Macomson. He retired from Wellington Mill and enjoyed fishing, especially his trips to Santee. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Calvin Lee Macomson (Angel) of Anderson, and Kurt Douglas Macomson (Bonny) of Iva; daughters, Frances Powell (Brent) of Starr, Brenda Strickland of Anderson, and Vickie Masters, of Anderson; brother, Bobby Macomson (Dale) of Anderson; sisters, Diane Patterson of Anderson, Patti Masters of Anderson, and Hester Pierce of Belton; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Louise Chapman. In addition to his parents and spouse, he was preceded in death by his son, Charles Howard Macomson; brothers, Edward, Jackie, and Billy Macomson; and sisters, Sara Lou Rutledge, Clara Sue Taylor, and Betty Morgan. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Dickson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Anderson, 215 E. Calhoun St., Anderson, SC 29621.
