Troy Meeks, age 74, husband of Janie Elizabeth Shirley Meeks of 108 Poplar Lane, Anderson, SC, died Friday, September 16, 2005 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Charlie Emmett Meeks and Eva Mae Culpepper Meeks. He was retired from Clark-Schwebel and was of the Baptist Faith.Survivors include his wife, Janie Elizabeth Shirley Meeks of the home; step-son, Marshall Cowart of Stockbridge, GA; sons, Troy Michael Meeks of Anderson, SC, Billy Randolph Meeks of Belton, SC, Larry Kenneth Meeks and Tony Lamar Meeks, both of Anderson, SC and Brian Keith Meeks of Fair Play, SC; daughters, Susan Meeks Harper of Belton, SC and Teresa Gayle Meeks of Anderson, SC; sister, Betty Christopher of Anderson, SC, sixteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Lee Meeks; two brothers, Thomas and Bobby Meeks and five sisters, Ollie McCrider, Ola Mae Barnes, Odessa Jordan, Vernell Kelly and Ruth Owen and a granddaughter, April Meeks.Funeral services will be held on SundAnderson, SC.ay, September 18, 2005 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment will follow in New Silverbrook Cemetery in The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 17, 2005 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
