Charles Ray Merck III, age 38, of Townville, SC, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 22, 1983, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of Charles "Chuck" Ray Merck II and Ruby Epps Merck. Chase enjoyed entertaining people, carpentry, and fixing up cars, but he was most passionate about his beautiful wife Crystal, whom he adored. He also loved spending time with his family, friends and three cats. Chase was employed at Poly-Med, Inc. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Crystal Cobb Merck; parents, Chuck and Ruby Merck; brother, Justin Merck of Pendleton; and sisters, Nicola Merck and Summer Merck both of Pendleton; and numerous other family and friends who he touched and loved during his short life. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Ray Merck. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 5:00-7:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 10:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PAWS, 1320 US-29, Anderson, SC 29626. The family will be at their respective homes.
