He was a 1942 graduate of Spartanburg High School and was an honor graduate of Clemson University with a degree in textile engineering. Mr. Patterson served in the United States Marine Corps in World War II. He worked in the textile industry for many years, having worked at the Millikin Corporation, the Inman Mill and Abney Mills. He was a member of the Inman Rotary Club, the Belton Gun Club and was active in Genealogy Research. He was an active member of Concord Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Chuck Patterson and friend, Shirley McAlister of Anderson; daughters, Nancy P. Desing and her husband, Mike of Piedmont; and Kelly P. Bostic and her husband, Sean of Anderson; four grandchildren, Sarah and Lauren Desing and Meghan and Patrick Bostic.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers, James D. Patterson and Albert L. Patterson.The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 3:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church officiated by Dr. Don Cox. A private family entombment will be at Oaklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the Church on Thursday from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Baptist Church, Building Fund, 1012 Concord Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
