Charles William Souther, age 85, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018, at his son's residence. Born in Anderson County, SC on September 14, 1933, he was the son of the late Garland Souther and the late Purnia Hatcher Souther Heaton. Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for Owens Corning Fiberglas for 27 years. He also owned and operated a kennel were he raised Great Danes, Poodles and Schnauzers for many years. He is survived by his son, Greg Souther and his wife Sandra; two sisters, Barbara Lindsey and Lois Lollis; three grandchildren, Emily Souther Essex, Charles Andrew Souther, and Souther Sue Shaw; and one great-grandson, Charles Griffin Souther. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Martha Miller Souther, his daughter, Debbie Sue Shaw; and three sisters. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Royce Addis officiating.
