CHARLES ROY STREET
September 25, 1949 - January 19, 2013
Charles Roy Street, age 63, of 110 Turkey Trot Road, Williamston, entered into his Heavenly home on Saturday, January 19, 2013, upon his death at Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL, following injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Born in Piedmont, OH, he was the son of the late Lindley Otha Street and the late Mary Louise Wolfe Street. For 42 years, he was the loving and devoted husband of Laughing Waters "Lassy" King Street of the residence.
A high school graduate, Mr. Street attended the Tri-State Training Center in Wheeling, WV and was a long haul truck driver with Auto Zone. Roy proudly served his nation in the US Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Era. He was first and foremost a servant of God. He was a member of Williamston Church of Christ, where he served as a song leader, was treasurer of the church and taught the teen Sunday School class.
In addition to his wife, "Lassy" of the home, Mr. Street is survived by 2 daughters: Bobbi Jean Peyton and her husband, John, of Port Republic, MD, and Charlene Roy Brenning and her husband, Douglas, of Williamston; 3 brothers: Patrick Moore and wife, Lisa, of Homerville, OH, Michael Moore and wife, Darlene, of Barnesville, OH, and James R. Moore of Pittsburgh, PA; 3 sisters: Patricia Cable and husband, Steve, of Beaver, PA, Nadine Keiser of Barnesville, OH, and Nanette Craig and husband, Ed, of Chillicothe, MO; 6 grandchildren: Deven Brenning, Samantha Hendricks, Charles Brenning, Cyrena Brenning, Justin Peyton and Michael Peyton; a great-grandchild, Vince Hendricks; and a special nephew, Ronnie Pulley of Barnesville, OH.
In addition to his parents Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Street Pulley, and his step-father, George Moore.
A Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Charles Roy Street will be held on Friday, January 25, 2013, at 11 AM at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Aaron Howard, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veteran's Cemetery. The employees and associates of Auto Zone will compose the Honorary Escort. The family is at the residence and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Thursday, January 24, 2013, from 6 PM until 8 PM.
