CHARLES CHESTER WILLIAMS May 21, 1927 - June 5, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Charles Chester Williams, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Central, SC, "Chet" was the son of the late Samuel Wade and Myrtis Campbell Williams. He was the founder of Williams Plastering and Dry Wall Inc., where he retired as President in 1990. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a life member of the American Legion. Following his retirement he enjoyed having more time for traveling, gardening and Georgia football. Mr. Williams was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson. A lifelong Georgia Bulldog fan, he could easily be spotted around town in his Georgia Red truck and UGA apparel. He was also a firearms and Case knife enthusiast. He was a founding and life member of the Belton Gun Club, a life member of the NRA, a member and past president of the Home Builders Association and a member of the Elks Club. Chet is survived by the love of his life for the past 63 years, his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Skelton Williams; daughters, Lynn Lindstedt (Ashley) of Anderson, Dr. Annette Lynn (Steve) and Jane Powell (Ted) of Columbia; his loving granddaughters, The Sugar Babes, Lesley Lindstedt, Laura Lindstedt, Alicia Lindstedt, Anna Lynn, Calhoun Taylor, Maggie Taylor; Great-Grand Sugar Babe, Emily Mills; two sisters, Isabel Kelly (Karl) of Greer, and Savannah Timmons of Aiken, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Spillers and W.C. Williams. The Funeral service to celebrate the life of Chet will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with Dr. Dennis Tedder and Reverend Caroline Berardi officiating. Interment will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm at the funeral home.
