Charlie Earl Cantrell Anderson, SC Charlie Earl Cantrell, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. Born in Salem, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie James Cantrell and Mimzie Abercrombie Cantrell. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a farmer for most of his life. Earl was a member of LaFrance First Baptist Church. He is survived by his sons, Stanley Earl Cantrell and his wife Mary, of Pendleton, SC, Jack Cantrell, of Pendleton, SC, Randy Cantrell, of Kernersville, NC and Rod Cantrell and his wife Patsy, of Pendleton, SC; three sisters, Faye Allen, of Pendleton, SC, Edna Parker, of Seneca, SC and June Cantrell, of Seneca, SC; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 67 years, Mary Etta Jones Cantrell; brothers, Ralph, Ray, Lester, Bruce, and Roy Cantrell; and one grandson, Sean Cantrell. The Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 3:00 PM at Oconee Memorial Park with Reverend Albert Couch officiating. The family will be at the residence, 1310 Autun Road, Pendleton, at other times. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to LaFrance First Baptist Church, 1 Circle Street, LaFrance, SC 29656 or to the Hospice of one's choice. The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to the staff and aides at NHC Healthcare of Anderson for the love and care they showed Charlie during his 17 years with them.
