He served in the United States Army, was an avid gardener, and retired from Jackson Mills. Survivors include his children: Rhonda Long and husband, Gerald Long, of Piedmont, Karen McGill and husband, Kenneth McGill, of Starr, and Darrell Green and wife, Sharon Green, of Iva; sisters: Lena Campbell and husband, Dale Campbell, of Iva, Connie Campbell of Iva, and Edna Blackwell and husband, Dennis Blackwell, of Anderson; brother, Jerry Green and wife, Barbara Green, of Iva; and three grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a grandchild; a sister, Sara Gable; and two brothers-in-law: Roger Campbell and Jack Gable.The Funeral Service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Billy Pinson and the Reverend Scotty Willoughby.
