Chevis Lee Kinley, age 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born July 6, 1940, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Holman and Ellen Rumsey Kinley. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Boggs; granddaughter, Kayla Boggs; brothers, Freeman, Harrison, Ray, Floyd, Alton, Curtis, Clyde and J.B. Kinley and sister, Sylvene Smith.

Chevis retired after 25 years of service from Suburban Propane as a truck driver. He also was a bus driver for Anderson School Districts 4 and 5. He was a Baptist by faith and loved spending time with his family. He also loved Clemson Tigers, NASCAR racing and golf.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda Williams Kinley; children, Donna Redd, Alicia Higgins Thompson, John Higgins (Sheri), Mark Higgins (Samara); son-in-law, Lane Boggs; twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews that he loved.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2023, at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with son, Mark Higgins and Rodney Cobb officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Family will be at the home.
