Christelle Charping Reese, age 94, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2016, in Ocala, Florida. Born in Pelham, SC on October 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Silas Birt Jones and the late Ella Jones. Christelle used her talent to work as a seamstress, for many years. She was of the Southern Baptist faith. She is survived by her daughters Judy Johnson and Denise Hess; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Silas Evans Charping; a son, Jack Charping, Sr.; and a sister, Willie Mae Harrill. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. John Hess officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.
