CHRISTENA MAE COPELAND December 23, 1921 - February 21, 2006 ANDERSON, SCMrs. Christena Mae Blackwell Copeland, age 84 of 2500 Airline Road, Anderson, SC, and wife of the late Robert G. Copeland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Westminster, SC on December 23, 1921, Mrs. Copeland was a daughter of the late Reverend Elmer Blackwell and Lena Blackwell. She retired from Anderson School District 5 as a lunchroom cook and was a shut-in member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple.Surviving are her sons, Truman Copeland and his wife, Brenda, Ralph Copeland and his wife, Linda, all of Anderson, SC and Larry Copeland and his wife, Belinda of Iva, SC; daughter, Marilyn Smith and her husband, Don of Anderson, SC; brother, Jimmy Blackwell of Westminster, SC; a sister, Elsie Carter of Westminster, SC; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, J. R., and Colonel Blackwell and a sister, Estelle Holbrooks.A Going Home Celebration will be on Friday, February 24, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Ed Hunsinger, Rev. Robbie Garrett and Rev. Ken Whitt. Entombment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Anderson, SC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her son, Truman Copeland, 105 Hamilton Drive, Anderson, SC.Flowers are optional.
