WINKLER M.D. April 11, 1945 - January 31, 2007ANDERSON, SCChristie Weston Winkler, Sr., M.D., died on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his residence. Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late Weston Rice Winkler and Mary Carrick Winkler. Dr. Winkler retired after twenty-five years of service from the United States Navy. He was an Eagle Scout, former Rotarian, member of the Elks Club, and the American Legion. He was also a member of the State Medical Society and the AMA. Survivors include his wife, Diane Henderson Winkler; son, Christie Weston Winkler, Jr.; daughters, Carrick Rowe, Candace Kropke, and Mary Todd Galgano. Five grandchildren are also surviving. A Service in Celebration of the Life of Dr. Winkler will be held at 5 :00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Mount Zion Presbyterian Church, Sandy Springs, with the Reverend Elizabeth Patrick officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. A family committal service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery located on the property of Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
