He attended Westside High School and worked as a plumber for Searault Plumbing Company. Sergeant Blair served in the SC Army National Guard and was a decorated noncommissioned officer who was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Palmetto Service Ribbon. He was an avid video gamer and was a UFC Fight fan. He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed playing with his son.Survivors include his wife of the home, April Marie Brown Blair; a son, Christopher Dennis Blair, Jr. of the home; a brother, J.R. Abernathy and his wife Wendy of Anderson, SC; father-in-law, Eddie Brown of Anderson, SC; mother-in-law, Tanna Stukes of Iva, SC; uncle, Ronnie Blair; and a cousin, Dustin Blair, serving in the U.S. Army in Germany.In addition to his father, Mr. Blair is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Margaret and Grady Blair and his maternal grandparents, Mildred and William Gordon.The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, conducted by Chaplain (Col.)
