Cindy Joyce Mimms Herbert, 59, of Anderson, SC passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Rainey Hospice House. Born November 24, 1957, in Spartanburg, SC, Cindy was a daughter to the late Earl Mimms and the late Gloria Lee Conyers Mimms. She was a graduate of Anderson College and Lander University. Cindy and her husband Joey owned and operated Boscobel Golf Club for 30 years, where she served as the bookkeeper and backbone of the operation. She was an active member of Welcome Baptist Church and was involved in Women of Welcome and the YAMS Sunday school class. She beat cancer for 20 years and was a hero and encourager to all who knew her. She and Maureen Williamson were instrumental in starting Relay for Life in Pendleton, SC. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She is survived by her husband, Joey Herbert; daughter, Sarah Herbert of Charlotte, NC; sister, Beverly Mimms George and her husband, Harry George of Fountain Inn, SC and brother, Bill Mimms and his wife, Sheri Mimms of Spartanburg, SC along with a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm Saturday, August 5, 2017, at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday at Welcome Baptist Church with Rev. William West, Matt Davis and Rev. Hugh Burgess officiating. Burial will follow in Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery.
