Clara McClain Childs Loyd, 91, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Ellenburg Nursing Center. Born February 16, 1928 in Townville, SC, she was a daughter of the late Mack James McClain and Martha Jane Cox McClain. She was married to the late William Lewis Childs. Clara spent her career as a cosmetologist and owned her own beauty shop. She is survived by her daughter, Jene Young; sister, Doris Clark; grandchildren, Barry Young (Morgan) and Rachel Young; and great-grandchildren, Elaina and Ryder Young. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Daniel Childs; and nine siblings. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-12:00pm Friday, December 13, 2019 at The McDougald Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 12:30pm with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Flowers will be accepted.
