Mrs. Clara Margaret Coats Powell, age 86, of 208 Edgebrook Drive, Anderson, SC, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at the Hospice House in Anderson, SC.Born in Anderson County, SC on October 26, 1920, Mrs. Powell was a daughter to the late Calhoun Coats and Lola Pilgrim Coats and was the beloved wife to the late William Clyde Powell for 54 years. She was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple and was a homemaker.Survivors include a daughter, Linda Powell King of Anderson, SC and her three daughters, Regina Neese, Michelle Moore and Kristina Benson; a son, William R. Powell and his wife Jinivie of Anderson, SC and their three children, Rod Powell, Brian Powell and Beth Crowe; two sisters, Louise Muri and Hazel Welsh, both of Anderson, SC, and fourteen great-grandchildren.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson, SC.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 30, 2007 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The family will be at the home of her granddaughter, Michelle Moore, 2501 Wright School Road, Anderson, SC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Home for Children, 511 W.
