CLARENCE HALL April 30, 1923 - May 25, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Clarence Hayward "Shorty" Hall, age 89, formerly of Anderson, passed away at Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston, GA on Friday, May 25, 2012. Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late John Walter Hall and the late Corrie Dell Taylor Hall. Clarence proudly served his country in the Navy. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after 30 years of service. He was a member of VFW 5996 and of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Hall was an avid gardener. Survivors include his daughters, Martha Smith and her husband Richard of Williamston and Debbie Rogers and her husband Eugene of Anderson; sisters, Hazel Blume of Burgaw, NC, Kathleen Scarborough of Milledgeville, GA, Edna Poore and Emogene "Jean" Welborn both of Anderson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth Fowler Hall; a son, Clarence H. Hall, Jr; brothers, John T. Hall, Vick Hall, and Fred Hall; and a sister, Peggy Smith. The Funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Hall will be held on Monday, May 28, 2012 at 11:00am in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Hunsinger officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
