He was the owner and operator of Hamby's Mobile Home Moving Company. He had been formerly employed with Appleton Mills and other mills. Mr. Hamby was a United States Navy Veteran having served in World War II. He was a member of West Anderson Church of God where he currently served as Head Usher.Survivors include his wife, Corinne Robinson Hamby of the home; two sons: Eddie Hamby and his wife Brenda of Anderson and Daniel Hamby and his wife, Sonya of Okeechobee, Florida; a daughter, Sharon Hamby Carroll and her husband George of Lake Secession; a sister, Martha Landolfi of Anderson; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.In addition to his parents, Mr. Hamby was preceded in death by a son, the late Everette Hamby, ten brothers and sisters.The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 3:00pm with the Reverend Mark Daniel and Reverend John M. Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00pm until 2:30pm on Friday.The family is at the residence, 118 McAlister Drive.Flowers are optional.
