The McDougald Funeral Home2211 North Main StreetAnderson, South Carolina 29621864-224-4343OBITUARY WITH FLAGTOM TOLLY, JR.NOVEMBER 29, 1937 - OctoBER 10, 2009ANDERSON, SC ' Clarence Thomas Tolly, Jr., age 71, of 314 Johnson Avenue, passed away on October 10, 2009, at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson, SC, on November 29, 1937, he was the son of the late Clarence Thomas Tolly, Sr., and Dorothy Duckworth Tolly. Mr. Tolly graduated in the Class of 1956 at Honea Path High School and served in the United States Navy -- where he was a member of the UDT. After thirty-one years of service, Mr. Tolly retired from Duke Power Company. He was a Mason, Shriner, and an original founder & member of the Belton Rescue Squad. Additionally, he was a woodworker, craftsman, builder, scuba diver, and 'jack of all trades'.Survivors include his wife, Pam Campbell Tolly of the home; three daughters: Jane T. Broadwell and husband, Keith of Honea Path, SC, Angela T. Foster and husband, Jeff of Belton, SC, and F'lyce T. Major and husband, David of Belton, SC; one son, Clarence Thomas Tolly, III, of Charleston, SC; one step-son, Drake Scott of Anderson, SC; one sister, Joyce Tolly Pruitt of Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one niece; and three nephews also survive. In addition, two very special pets, Brody & Bailey, survive Mr. Tolly.A sister, Jane Tolly Hughes and a nephew, Thomas 'Roddy' Pruitt, also predeceased him.A Service to Celebrate the Life of Tom Tolly, Jr., will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2009, in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. The United States Navy will render Military Honors. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of The Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.In keeping with Mr. Tolly's wishes, his remains were donated to the Medical University of South Carolina, Columbia.A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.mcdougaldfuneralhome.com.The McDougald Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
