Claudene Diane Elrod, age 68, of 105 Sussex Way, passed away at her residence on April 5, 2017, with her family by her side. Born in Clarkesville, GA on April 11, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Claudie Elrod and the late Uldine Neal Elrod. Claudene was a graduate of T. L. Hanna High School, Class of 1966. She attended Clemson University, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry. Claudene was a self-employed business owner, where she operated the Riverview Auction Sales for several years, where she purchased and sold antiques and collectables. She also owned and managed Elrod Rentals for several years. She was a member of Barnette Grove Emmanuel Holiness Church. Claudene is survived by a sister, Robyn Hanks and her husband Raymond, of Anderson; two nephews, Rhett Hanks and Chris Luper, both of Anderson; a niece, Amy Eskew of Anderson; also surviving is a special family friend who is considered a part of the family, Morrise Mitchell of Honea Path. In addition to her parents, Claudene was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Luper, a brother-in-law, Gary Luper, and a nephew Trey Hanks. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Claudene Elrod will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. A private interment will be held with the family later.
