Claudia Gambrell Hood, age 83, of Anderson, SC, joined Jesus and her beloved husband of 60 years, Kenneth Hood, Sr., Saturday, September 2, 2023. Born November 23, 1939, in Honea Path, SC, she was a daughter of the late Albert Gambrell and Ida Mae Brock Gambrell. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kenny Hood. Claudia loved children regardless of age. She was and will always be known to everyone as Nannie. She loved to crochet, work crossword puzzles, gardening and especially receiving beautiful flowers from her dear friend, Lee Frombach. She was a faithful member of Varennes Heights Baptist Church. She is survived by daughter, Sandra H. Brabham; brother, Furman Gambrell (Doris); sister, Barbara Gambrell; grandchildren, Scott Brabham (Claudia), Josh York (Billie Jo), Chris Brabham (Michelle), Lori Powell (Wayne), and Will York (Jennifer); and fourteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at Varennes Heights Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm following the visitation at the Church with Reverends Dr. Doug Ferguson and Dr. Kirt Mitchell officiating.
