Claudia Bernice Thompson, age 79, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at her home.

Born April 14, 1945, in Mobile, AL, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Abraham Stowe, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Taylor Stowe. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Abraham Stowe, Jr.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker. She loved taking care of others, beginning as mom to her 3 children, then graduating to "G-Mo" to her five wonderful "grand" children. She loved her family, and nothing meant more. Her unconditional love, acceptance, and devotion will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Larry Loyd Thompson, Sr.: sons, Larry Loyd Thompson, Jr. (Kim), Jeff Thompson (Terri) and David Thompson; grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Torbett (James), Jon David Thompson (Katelyn), Jeremy Thompson (Jeni), Dylan Thompson and Ainsley Thompson; and great grand-daughters, Lucy and Molly Torbett.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Chapel with Dr. Josh Hunt officiating. Burial will be held at Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, AL at a later date.
