CLAUDINE F. HOWELL ANDERSON, SC Claudine F. Howell, age 93, wife of the late Walter L. Howell, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Ellenburg Nursing Home. Born in Anderson County, SC on October 3, 1921, Mrs. Howell was the daughter of the late John Ashley Whitaker; Nell Watt Whitaker and Lola Burdette Whitaker. She retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas with 25 years of service and was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons, Donnie Howell, Frank Merck; daughters, Juanita Simpson and Linda A. Hanvey, all of Anderson, SC; one brother, James Alford Whitaker; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sons; one brother; one sister and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 12:30 until 1:45 pm. The funeral will follow at 2:00 pm the Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Ed Hunsinger. Interment will follow in Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.
