Clelia McGill Blanton, age 85, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at National Health Care in Anderson. Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late James S. Hedden and the late Rosa Cleo Reynolds Hedden. She was twice married, first to the late James Albert "Mac" McGill, and then to the late William G. "Bill" Blanton. Mrs. Blanton was retired from Sears of Anderson where she was employed for many years as a sales associate in the appliance department. She was an active member of New Prospect Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, James Ronald McGill and his wife, Cynthia, of Anderson; a daughter, Karen McGill Sciantarelli of Anderson; a brother, Gary T. Hedden and his wife, Pauline, of Anderson; three grandchildren, Ronald Bolt and his wife, Angela, Jennifer Hammond and her husband, Jason, and Jason Simmons and his wife, Sue Ellen; also surviving are seven great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and her husbands, Mrs. Blanton was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Jack and Carl Hedden; and five sisters, Vivian Hedden, Bertha Parnell, Margie Deitz, Lillian Kelley, and Emma Simpson. A Graveside Service to honor and celebrate the life of Clelia Blanton will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Tom Turner officiating. The family will be at the residence of Ronald and Cynthia McGill and will receive friends at the New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.
