Cletner "Clet" Whetzel Crain, of Anderson, passed away on February 7, 2016, 3 days short of his 93rd birthday. Clet was born in Oconee County in 1923. He was a veteran, having served in the Army Air Corps at the end of WWII. Clet was a Christian. He accepted Christ at an early age. He demonstrated his devotion to Christ by the love and joy he expressed daily to others. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and many other capacities in Anderson Churches throughout his life. Cletner is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Hattie. He is also survived by his five living children and their families, Sam Owen, of Anderson, Beverly Murphy (Bob), of Simpsonville, Stephen Crain (Sandy), of Anderson, Mark Crain (Gena), of Anderson, and Troy Crain (Misty) of Anderson; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by two sons, Mike Owen and Brad Crain; a grandson, Ryan Crain; three brothers, Elgie, Bill, and Chuck Crain; and five sisters, Idell White, Jessie Medlin, Ethel Allen, Bernice Crain, and Floy Crain. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Reverend Alton Midgett, Reverend Greg Hamman, and Reverend James Troy Crain officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday, prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 1324 George Albert Lake Road, Anderson, SC 29624.
