Reedy, Sr., age 80, husband of Mary Ann Reedy of 205 Webb Road, Anderson, SC, died Monday, December 11, 2006.Born in Clintwood, Virginia on January 24, 1926, Mr. Reedy was a son of the late George Hatley Reedy and Vesta Ellen Wallen Reedy. He was a 1953 graduate of Virginia Tech and was a United States Army World War II veteran. While serving in the Army, he earned a Purple Heart after his ship was torpedoed in the English Channel on Christmas Eve in 1944. He was retired from the United States Forest Service and after retirement, he was a realtor with Stathakis Real Estate and a member of Senior Solutions. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post #5996. He was a very active member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church where he had formerly been employed part-time as the school janitor. Also at the church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Reedy of the home; sons, Clifford A. Reedy, Jr., and his wife, Marcia Reedy of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Todd Reedy and his wife, Erin of Columbia, MD; daughter, Kathy 'Sharon' Smith of Fredericksburg, VA; brother, Avon Reedy of Stevensburg, VA; sister, Patricia Speer of Clintwood, VA; five grandchildren, Bryan Smith, Eric Smith and Megan, Michelle and Mark Reedy.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Allene Stanley Reedy, five brothers, Victor Cruce Reedy, Joseph Cecil Reedy, Virgil Lester Reedy, William Garner Reedy and Herman Eugene Reedy and a sister, Lydia Margaret Painter.A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at Saint Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Reverend Father James N. Dubrouillet. A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with visitation following until 7:00 pm.The family will be at the residence.Flowers are optional.
