Clifton Philip Williams, age 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.
Born January 5, 1935, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Carl Williams and Eula Josephine Lyon Williams. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Doris Pittman and Lucene Ellis.
Phil was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He received an associate's degree from Anderson College and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Erskin College. He was formerly a Trust officer for First Union Bank and Southern Bank. He was also a real estate broker and appraisal officer. He was a Hejaz Shriner, and a former member of First Baptist Church of Anderson and Forest Hills Baptist Church.
Phil was a lifelong resident of Anderson who knew every road like the back of his hand. He loved the peace and serenity of his house on Broadway Lake. He was an avid Clemson fan. He was known for his outgoing personality and love of people and couldn't go anywhere that he didn't know someone. Phil was a generous and kindhearted man. Most of all, he loved his family and the times they spent together brought him the most joy.
He is survived by his sons, Greg Williams (Adrian) and Chris Williams (Wendy); daughter, Anne Schwirian (Skip); and grandchildren, Lindsey Williams and Justin Williams.
The family will host a service at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 5, 2026 at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
