Born in Anderson, SC on July 16, 1943, he was a son of Mildred 'Granny' Bridges and the late James Cansel Bridges. Mr. Bridges served in the United States Army. He was associated with K.C. Auto Sales and was formerly employed by George's Drive In. He was also a member of the Anderson Elk's Lodge and Gethsemane Baptist Temple. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his children: a daughter, Gail Bridges; a son, Mel Bridges and wife, Jamie Bridges, all of Anderson; grandchildren: Kayla, J.C., Colt, McKenzie, Macey, Ty, Olivia; and his great grandchildren: Ava brother, Joe Bridges of Pendleton; sisters: Julie Church of San Antonio, TX, Frances 'Pinky' King, Mary Hammonds, and Sara Osborne, all of Anderson.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Jimmy, Grady, and Landy Bridges.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2009, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Sam Duncan. Interment with Military Honors will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, April 4, 2009, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.The family is at the residence, 1411 E.
