LAFAYETTE CROMERSEPTEMBER 19, 1926 - DeceMBER 24, 2008ANDERSON, SC -- Mr. Clyde Lafayette Cromer, age 82, of 607 Camfield Road, and husband of Irene Yeargin Cromer passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House.Born in Anderson County, SC on September 19, 1926, he was a son of the late John Clyde Cromer and Jewel Clark Cromer. He was a graduate of Boys' High School and retired from Dillard's Sporting Goods. Mr. Cromer was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class and was an usher for over forty years. He was an avid gardener, who enjoyed sharing the bounty of his garden with so many people.Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Irene Y. Cromer; his daughter, Katherine C. Robertson and her husband, Todd Robertson of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his sister, Syble C. Etheredge; three grandchildren: Jason Carl Moore, Erica M. Whitehead and her husband, Scott Whitehead, and Victoria Robertson; and one great grandson, Landen Whitehead.Mr. Cromer was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, and a brother, Cecil Erwin Cromer.A Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Friday, December 26, 2008, at Trinity United Methodist Church, conducted by the Reverend Paul S. Frey. Former and present Church Ushers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
