Mr. Clyde Benson Gambrell, 99, husband of Daisy A. Gambrell, formerly of 734 Slab Bridge Road, Liberty, SC, died Thursday, April 13, 2006 in Anderson.Born in Belton, SC on September 21, 1906, Mr. Gambrell was the son of the late G. Harrison Gambrell and Lillian Brooks Gambrell. He was retired from Owens Corning Fiberglas and was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church.He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Daisy A. Gambrell of the home; son, Clyde Chevis Gambrell and his wife, Marie of Alabama, Harvey Dale Gambrell and his wife, Juanita of Greenwood and Preston Talmadge Gambrell and his wife, Sandra of Anderson; sisters, Dorothy Gunnin of Colorado and Maxie Cromer of Anderson; ten grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren also survive.In addition to his parents, Mr. Gambrell is predeceased by a son, Fred Benson Gambrell and a number of brothers and sisters.The family will be at their respective homes.
