Clyde William Mullinax, Jr., age 91, of Anderson, SC, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, September 16, 2021. Born April 7, 1930, in Anderson, he was the son of the late Clyde William Mullinax and Jessie Mullinax Kernells. He was married for 69 wonderful years to Mary Ellen Forrester Mullinax until her death this past April 2021. Doot attended Boys High and was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during WWII in Okinawa, Japan. During his career, he ran many businesses including Mullinax Amoco Service Station, rental properties, real estate and beach condo partnerships. Doot loved living on the lake. He was not a man of many hobbies but he loved to spend time with and generously provide many happy memories at the lake and beach with his children and grandchildren. He loved to eat-especially a Skin's hotdog and any dessert. He was a mason with Hiram Lodge and a Shriner. He was a lifelong member of Oakwood Baptist Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Randy Mullinax (Donna) and Brad Mullinax (Kim) both of Anderson; grandchildren, Lisa Olmstead (Andrew) and their children, Rachel, Emily, and John, and Justin Mullinax (Brittany) and their children, Scottlyn, Walker, and Callie; and brother, Ray Church (Sandy). In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dick Mullinax; and sister, Barbara Wilson. A cryptside service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 3:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Guy Roberts officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
