Perkins, Jr., age 93, passed away at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home on January 29, 2012. Born in Detroit, Michigan, February 10, 1918, he was the husband of Judy S. Perkins, and son of the late Clyde A. Perkins, Sr. and the late Soul Fenner Perkins. He proudly served in the US Army. He was in business in Detroit MI before movin to Anderson in 1962 and founding Perx Car Wash. He owned and operated Perx until his retirement in 2002. He then passed the family business to his sons. He was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his five children; Patricia Wasson, (Ted) of Bonita Springs, FL; Peggy Simpson, (Bill) of Danville, VA; Clyde A. Perkins, III, 'Cap, (Theresa) of Antreville, SC; and Mike 'Brillo' Perkins, (Lucretia) and Jeff Perkins, (Sandra), all of Anderson, SC. He had 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Perkins was predeceased by his wife and the mother of his children, Jean M. Davison Perkins and his sister, Marion Frost.A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mr. Perkins will be held at Central Presbyterian Church at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 5, 2012 with Rev.
