Born in McCormick, SC on January 4, 1928, Mrs. Harris was a daughter of the late Sam Weeks and Leta Deason Weeks. She was a homemaker and Past Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star, Iva Chapter #221. She was a member of Iva Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. She was the loving mother of her children: George 'Vic' Harris, III and his wife, Alice of Greenwood; Diane Winstead and her husband, Roger of Westminster. She is survived by her brothers and sisters; Larry Weeks of Greenwood and Sam Weeks of Greenville, Shelby Weeks of the home and Tammy Gates of Abbeville. Six grandchildren, Scott, Ernie and Jonathan Moore of Belton, Jay Winstead of Westminster, Manley Victor Harris and his wife, Shannon of Greenwood and Christopher George Harris of Mt. Pleasant; four great-grandchildren; her caretaker and niece, Sandy McAllister of the home and many special nieces and nephews also survive.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, George Victor Harris Jr., and a sister, Bernice Moon.The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Jerry Gray.
