LEWISAugust 3, 1947 - March 4, 2012Connie Ruth Dickerson Lewis, age 64, of 1011 Mouchet Circle, Starr, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at the AnMed Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Elmer and the late Mary Ruth Bruce Dickerson. She was married for 36 years to the late Homer J. Lewis. Connie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iva. Those who know her know how much she loved children. She also enjoyed her Thursday evening trips to the Lowndesville Community Center to participate in dancing, listening to music and fellowshipping with her many friends.Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Missy Lewis Rice and her husband, Seath, of Iva; 3 brothers: T.C. Dickerson, Sr. (Irene) of Starr, Billy Dickerson (Frankie) of Iva, Jerry Dickerson (Kaye) of Iva; a sister Juanita Johnson of Iva; and 2 beloved grandchildren, Cory and Ashley Rice of Iva. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews and a special friend, Arvetta Powell of Anderson.A service celebrating the life of Connie Lewis will be held Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 3:30 PM at the First Baptist Church of Iva, with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. Interment will follow at the Iva City Cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Missy and Seath Rice, 1320 Project Road, Iva, and will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6 PM until 8 PM on Wednesday, March 7th.
