Connie Smith McCurry, 75, of Anderson, SC passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 28, 1944 in Anderson, SC, she was a daughter of the late Norman L. "Pokey" Smith and Gertrude Gary Smith, the former owners of "Pokey's". She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Smith. Connie graduated from Girls High School and Anderson College with a degree in Business and Psychology. Connie was a caregiver and the business owner of Connie's Residential Care #1 and #2. She is survived by her loving daughter, Shannon Craft Roland; stepdaughter, Donna McCurry Blackwell. She was cherished by her grandchildren, Sheldon Miller (Evan), Chandler Craft (Haley), Kyleah and Lakan McLees; great-grandchildren, Oaklyn Miller, Braelee Craft, Saylor Craft, Cannon-Ella Smith Craft; step-sister, Tracey Rainey; as well as her miniature Pomeranian, Weezer. She will be remembered as the rock of her family, having a heart of gold and a friend to all that she met. A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30pm Monday, April 15, 2019 in the Chapel at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30pm Monday prior to the service at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Shannon Craft Roland.
