CONNY LEE HUDGINS September 17, 1936 - October 4, 2008ANDERSON, SCMr. Conny Lee Hudgins, age 72, of 1335 Pearl Harbor Way, husband of the late Virginia Beasley Hudgins, died Saturday, October 04, 2008 at his residence.Born in Anderson, SC on September 17, 1936, Mr. Hudgins was a son of the late Dewitt 'Pee Wee' Hudgins and Myrtle Norris Hudgins. He attended Boys' High School and was a member of Word Tabernacle Church. He was a ceramic instructor in many local area schools and also worked in the textile industry. Mr. Hudgins was an advocate for Amnesty International, working against the death penalty.Surviving are sons, David Hudgins and his wife Susan of Moore, SC and Joseph Paul Hudgins of Anderson; daughter, Cathy Greer and her husband Micheal of the home and Renee Tollison and her husband Oral of Anderson; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Hudgins.The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 4:00 pm at Word Tabernacle Church officiated by the Reverend Gene Williams. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 6, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mr. Hudgins will be placed in the church at 3:00 pm on Tuesday.The family will be at the residence.
