Constance Tollison Burns, age 95, of 311 Brittany Park, entered the Church Triumphant upon her death on Friday, November 02, 2018 at her home. Born in Greenville, SC, on May 29, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Leila Wilson Tollison. For 51 years, she was the loving and devoted wife of the late Leland Earle Burns until his death in 2000. Mrs. Burns was a graduate of Greenville High School, Class of 1940, after which she attended Draughon's Business College. Constance was a long time and devoted member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Mrs. Burns enjoyed volunteer work with Meals-on-Wheels and was a Pink Lady Volunteer at Anderson Memorial Hospital. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Survivors include her son, David T. Burns and his wife, Vickie, of Anderson; a daughter, Susan B. Wright and husband, Billy, of Lowndesville, SC; a sister, Willette Taylor of Greenville; also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Leland, Mrs. Burns was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Edward Henderson who was killed in action while serving his country in the US Navy in the Philippines on January 10, 1945. The family would like to thank all of "Mrs. Connie's" caregivers for their loving care and support provided during her illness. A Funeral Service to celebrate and honor the life of Mrs. Constance Tollison Burns will be held on Monday, November 5, 2018, at 2 PM at the Central Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. David J. Bailey officiating. Private committal service and entombment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum prior to the funeral service. The family will be at the residence of David and Vickie Burns, 1106 Concord Road, Anderson, and will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall at Central Presbyterian Church following the Service.
