CONSTANCE GERUS May 1, 1924 - October 26, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Constance Elizabeth Stephens Gerus, age 88, 311 Simpson Road, Anderson, passed away on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Stephens and the late Catherine Yeoman Stephens. She along with her late husband, Walter R. Gerus, Sr. proudly served their country in the U.S. Navy, she in the Waves. She was a medical secretary for the VA Hospital in Erie, PA for 21 years. Constance was a member of The St. John's Episcopal Church in Erie, PA and also a member of The St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Ft. Pierce, FL. Survivors include her children, Stephen Gerus and his wife Rosemary Blieszner of Blacksburg, VA, Walter R. Gerus, Jr. of Christiansburg, VA, Adrienne Gerus (Richard Thompson) of Pendleton, SC, Sharlene Jochym and her husband Eric of Medford, NJ and Marsha Banfield of Oviedo, FL; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A Committal service will be held at a later date at the Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
