Corene Lula Elrod Dunn, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at her home. Born October 7, 1939 in Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Alton Elrod and Irene Martin Elrod. Corene spent her career in the textile industry. She enjoyed traveling, especially to the beach, shopping and she has a special affinity for ice cream. She loved her family dearly and her grandchildren were her treasure. Corene was a member of Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Heyward Owen Dunn; son, Keith Dunn; daughter Christy Dunn; grandchildren, Blake Queen, Brantly Queen, Shelley Dunn, Jessica Dunn, Emily Wallace, and Barrett Dunn; and great-grandchild, Camden Queen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 1:30-2:30pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Brent Lollis officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 711 Glenn St., Anderson, SC 29625.
