Corinne Foster Summerlin, age 69, of Anderson SC, passed away July 27, 2021 at NHC Healthcare after a long and courageous cancer battle. She fought this illness gracefully with determination from the start and never stopped appreciating the doctors and nurses that helped her through each stage of this journey. Born July 5, 1952 in Greenville SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Foster and Barbara Blalock Foster. Corinne was a graduate of The University of South Carolina and received her Master's in Education from The Citadel. She then went on to teach. Many of her years were spent lovingly educating children with learning differences. This was a passion she always held dear to her heart. She loved to travel, and did so extensively before moving from Columbia to Anderson so that she could spend time with her family. She also enjoyed her time at Folly Beach. Golf cart rides, book reading, and walks on the beach to get the sand on her feet were some of her favorite things. She was thankful to enjoy many years of this with her family and friends. Corinne is survived by her only sister, Ferrell Blalock Haigler; nieces Kim (John) Glenn & Whitney (Matt) McFadden; nephew, Brantly (Kara) Haigler and grand-nieces and nephew, Lilian Glenn, Julia Glenn, Eleanor Glenn, Lyla McFadden, Maggie McFadden, and James Haigler all of Anderson SC and her loyal four legged companion, Beatrice Sarah.
