Cornelia Beatrice "Bea" Nimmons Parker, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on July 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Clayton Nimmons and the late Fannie Sue Fennell Nimmons. She was a member of the Navy Wife's Club and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Anderson. Bea was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and affectionately known as "Co-Pilot" , attending extra - curricular activities as long as her health allowed. Her family will always remember the care and compassion that she gave to others throughout her life. She is survived by her children, Franklin C. Parker, Jr. and his wife Denise, of Pelzer, SC and Gail Roper and her husband Jim, of Pendleton, SC; grandchildren, Richard and Gregory Gillespie, Mollie and James C. Roper, III, Jennifer Johnson, Reverend Brian Matthew Parker, Kristen Parker Smith, Nathan Hammonds, and Tiffany Dennis; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin C. Parker, Sr.; a daughter, Susan Hammonds; and a brother, Richard Harold Nimmons. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with her grandson, Reverend Brian Matthew Parker officiating. Interment will follow at New Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Monday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gideon's International , PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
