Craig was a friend to many, a fighter for justice, and a faithful husband and father. Craig Henry Sasser, 75, of Godley, Texas died at the hospital in Dallas, Texas of heart failure on July 26, 2026.

Craig Sasser was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina to the late Ethel Ann Bouma, who was a loving mother. He grew up in Montana and worked on the farms with his older brother Loren. Craig graduated the 8th grade from Farmington Grade School. Then he graduated from Choteau High School in Montana in 1969. Craig joined the Army National Guard shortly thereafter and started as Small Arms Repair and then retired as a Master Sargeant of Nuclear Biological Chemical Warfare. Craig designed and operated the only decontamination site in Operation Desert Storm. His military service was from 1971 to 1997.

Craig started his career in 1971 as a police officer in Grand County, Colorado. In 1973, Craig transferred to the City of Arvada Police Department where he worked for 24 years until 1997. Then Craig became a Polygraph Examiner in Arizona and worked for both the State and City of Phoenix (1997-2005). Craig ended his career in Lynchburg, VA at Liberty University as a Sargeant Detective and Polygraph Examiner (2005-2015). Craig faithfully served his communities and country well.

Craig met the love of his life, Donna, in July of 1988. On their first date he took her to a vegetarian restaurant in Boulder, CO. (She prefers steak!) He bought an ice cream cone afterwards and wanted to share it with her, making a very awkward moment hilarious years later. Excited to start their lives together, they were married December 28, 1990 in Arvada, CO. They shared many adventures and had beautiful memories together.

Together they brought children from previous marriages and became a family of six. Then God blessed them with two of their own. Anna (Andrew) Osmun, his first born, resides in Elgin, IL. Stephen (Kara) Ansel resides in Huddleston, VA. Parents of Natalie (Ben) Mays, Jeremiah, Alexis, Makila, and Breanna. Megan (Ryan) Knowles resides in Keysville, VA. Parents of Carson, Tristan, Cora, and Rohan. Ashley (Nathan) Moore resides in Albermarle, NC. Parents of Katelyn (Aidan) Miles, Ella, and Brody. Joshua's previous marriage: Scarlett, Gabriel, and Emmanuel. Joshua (Kristeana) Sasser resides in Towers, MN with their blended family of Lia, Gabriella, Colton, and Maverick. Benjamin (Chenoa) Sasser resides in Fargo, ND. Baby Sasser arriving December 2026. Also, first great grandchild Waylon Mays.

Survived by his brother Loren, trophy wife Nancy Sasser of Choteau, MT. Nephew Justin Sasser Helena, MT (Pam). Their children Seth, Sarrah, and Madison. Niece Amanda Klaus Weston, FL (Jake). Their kids Morgan Klaus Nelson, McKensy, Eli, and Paul. Niece Molly Ann Sasser-Goehner Missoula, MT (Allen). Their kids, Luke and Leo.

Craig attended Grace Bible Church in Grandbury, TX. He loved all of his church family there. Craig also loved and cherished many brothers and sisters in Christ among the churches he attended over the years.

He battled through many illnesses to include cancer, immune deficiency, heart failure, kidney failure, and more. Just ask Donna, she'll tell you. Craig was determined in his fight for freedom, justice, family, life, and faith.

One of Craig's favorite sayings was "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

His favorite verse was John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this; to lay down one's life for one's friends." Craig could not wait to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior.

The only way we can stand is with Christ by putting on the full armor of God. "Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then..." Ephesians 6:13-14a

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00 am at M.J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
