Cullen Thomas Evans, Jr. age 82, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at his residence. Born in Anderson County, SC on June 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Cullen Thomas Evans, Sr. and the late Leila Dickson Evans. He retired from Orr Lyons Mill after many years of service. Cullen was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He loved animals and enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Bruce Evans and his wife Jan, of Elberton, GA, and Sandra Marie Ehrig, of Elberton, GA; a sister, Judy Aycock and her husband Melvin, of Starr, SC; a sister-in-law, Earlene Evans; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and his former wife, Marlene Wilson Evans Powers, of Elberton, GA. Cullen was loved by many nieces and nephews, including Fredda and Gus Jordan, whom he lived with during the last several years of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Claudine Evans; a brother, Billy Evans; and a sister, Guynell Walker. The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Dickson officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
