Obituary

James Daniel "Dan" King, age 64, of 600 Milford Road, passed away at AnMed Health Medical Center on Friday, August 4, 2017. Born in Anderson on March 12, 1953, he was the son of the late Roswell "Buster" King and the late Margaret Jenkins King. For forty-six years, he was the devoted husband of Debbie Wood King of the home. Mr. King was a graduate of Belton-Honea Path High School, Class of 1971. He proudly served his country in the US Army Reserve. Mr. King was retired from Bell South after thirty years employment as a service technician. He was a lifelong member of Long Branch Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Debbie, Dan is survived by a daughter, Wendy King Whitfield and her husband, Bradley of Anderson; a grandson, Warren Whitfield of Anderson; and two sisters, Nancy King and Caroline Daniel, both of Anderson. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a brother, Dean King. A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Dan King will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Long Branch Baptist Church, with Dr. Clarence Adkins and Rev. Wayne Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is at the residence and will receive friends on Sunday, August 6, 2017, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the church.
