BENNETTMARCH 22, 1940 - OctoBER 28, 2009GREENVILLE, SC ' Dana Deveroux Bennett, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Dana fought a mighty battle with Kidney disease; he was a dedicated and loving father, grandfather, brother, & father-in-law.Born in Toccoa, GA, on March 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Hershel 'Hutt' Bennett and Willie Mae Roberts Bennett. He was a 1957 graduate of Stephens County High School and served from 1962 until 1964 in the United States Army. Mr. Bennett was a member of the Anderson Elks Club and a retired truck driver from BASF and also AutoZone. Survivors include his children: a son, Donnie Bennett and wife, Janee' Bennett of Lafayette, LA; a daughter, Doane August and husband, Bob August of Greenville, SC; former wife, Diana Garrett of Greenville, SC; four grandchildren: Diana, Robert, John, & David August; two sisters: Peggy King and husband, Amiel King of Anderson, SC, and Brenda Addison and husband, Clark Addison of Toccoa, GA; and four nephews including a special nephew, Mark King.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Sunday, November 1, 2009. The Funeral Service will follow at 4 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home conducted by the Reverend Dr. George Moore and the Reverend Ralph Ashley. A committal service will follow in Rose Lane Cemetery, Toccoa, GA, with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army.
